It's a piece of cake for Pearsons

Customers and staff at Enfield’s largest department store, Pearsons, are taking a tea break to raise funds for national charity, the Willow Foundation.

The store is laying on free tea and cakes in its restaurant, where customers can make a donation to Willow as part of the charity’s Piece of Cake campaign. The campaign, supported by Willow Foundation ambassador, chef Gary Rhodes, and sponsored by McVitie’s Jamaica Ginger Cake, encourages individuals, schools and businesses to hold a tea party fundraiser for the charity.

The event takes place at the store, which has a long history of supporting the charity, at 11- 14 The Town, Enfield, on Thursday 25 June, from 9.30am to 11am. There will also be a raffle with some wonderful prizes, including a signed Ainsley Harriot cookbook, and a Willow Foundation staff member will be on hand to talk about the charity. Customers can also purchase charity merchandise and ordered signed copies of Bob Wilson books. All are welcome to attend.

Funds raised from tea and cake sales will aid the work of the Willow Foundation - founded by former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presenter, Bob Wilson, and his wife, Megs, the charity provides special days for seriously ill young adults.

“The Piece of Cake campaign is a simple way to raise money for the Willow Foundation. It embodies exactly what we are about – quality time together with family and friends. Every little helps, so no matter how much you raise at your tea party, you will be helping many more seriously ill young adults to enjoy a special day.
We’re honoured that Pearsons has supported the charity for a number of years, making so many special days possible.” - Bob Wilson.

The Willow Foundation Piece of Cake campaign is sponsored by McVitie’s Jamaica Ginger Cake and supported by charity ambassador, chef Gary Rhodes.
