COVID-19 Update - October 2020
Please be aware that we are not accepting new applications for Special Days at this time.
We are currently arranging Special Days for a group of over 700 beneficiaries who unfortunately had their Special Day postponed during the peak of COVID-19 earlier in the year.
We are doing all we can to be in a position to re-open applications as soon as possible, this is currently not planned until 2021 at the earliest. However, if this date can be brought forward, we will share an update on this page.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.
Please note that we will not store or process any applications received after 16 March 2020, until the decision is made to accept new applications again.
Frequently Asked Questions
My Special Day was postponed, when are Willow going to resume Special Days?
We have now resumed a limited service for those applications that were on hold due to Coronavirus. You will have received an email update about this with a survey to complete detailing your current status and choice of Special Day.

My application is due to expire soon or has already expired. Does this mean that my application will get extended?
Yes – We will automatically extend all approved applications that are due to expire soon or that have already expired until 1st October 2021. We will closely monitor the situation and should we need to extend applications further we will do so.
How will Willow be prioritising booking Special Days?
We will be prioritising urgent beneficiaries and also those who had a Special Day booked and cancelled previously but we aim to honour all previously approved applications by 1 October 2021. If you feel that you need to go on your Special Day as soon as possible please let the Special Days team know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
What type of Special Days are you offering for those whose application was put on hold?
- Days out (i.e. activity, meal out, theme park, attraction etc.)
- Hotel break (dinner, bed and breakfast)
- Private holiday home break (cottage, lodge etc.)
- Holiday Park break (subject to availability – currently very limited)
- Small celebrations (birthday party, help with wedding etc.)
- Special Day at home (i.e. something at home, in the garden)
You should have received an email regarding this and a survey to complete indicating your preference. Please get in touch with the Special Days team on email@example.com if you have not received the email.
Are there any restrictions for my Special Day?
All Special Days must adhere to Government guidelines and restrictions relating to COVID-19. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot offer assistance with travel arrangements to and from your Special Day. We are also currently unable to provide the option of sporting events, live music events, spa days and theatre productions as a Special Day choice.
All of the above are subject to change due to the current Covid-19 restrictions and will be monitored closely on a regular basis.
Who can come with me on my Special Day?
You can share your Special Day with close family or friends. Please discuss this with your Special Day Coordinator as they will need to refer to the most recent government guidelines. If you need a carer to attend to help with your medical needs, please let us know when we are making your arrangements.
What does cancelling my Special Day mean and how will it impact me?
If your personal circumstances change (i.e. you become too unwell to travel or if the government guidelines change) we will cancel and re-book your Special Day on a future date and when safe to do so. We will take care of all of your booking amendments so you do not need to worry about this.
What if I decide I no longer wish to have a Special Day?
This is not a problem, if you no longer wish to have a Special Day and withdraw your application please inform us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org

When will I be able to send a new application to Willow for a Special Day?
We are still working with our current group of beneficiaries who had their Special Days postponed due to the initial impact of COVID-19 back in March 2020. We have over 700 beneficiaries that we are fulfilling Special Days for between now and the end of 2021.
We are currently planning to reopen to new applications again in late 2021 at the earliest. However, we will update the website and notify referrers if that changes.
