An award winning night at the London Legends Awards

Roy Hodgson, Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsay and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard were amongst those recognised at the London Football Legends Awards, March 6. The awards were hosted by comedian Alan Davies in London and raised just over £100,000 for Willow.

Award nominees and winners were selected by an expert judging panel comprising; talkSPORT presenters, Paul Hawksbee & Andy Jacobs; Evening Standard chief football correspondent, James Olley; sports broadcaster, Jim Rosenthal; Sky Sports commentator, Dickie Davis; Arsenal & Scotland legend, Bob Wilson and Spurs & England legend, Martin Chivers.

England manager, Roy Hogdson, received the Lifetime Achievement Award and Tony Carr, the Willow Award (which recognises a legends’ contribution outside of the professional game) awarded for his coaching career with the West Ham youth team.  Both attended the event to accept their awards.

More than 20 legends, including Sir Geoff Hurst, Ledley King, Sir Trevor Brooking and Jimmy Greaves were among the legends to attend the London Football Legends Awards and to have taken part in a Q&A session hosted by Bob Wilson.

This fantastic evening raised much needed funds for Willow and will go a long way in making many more Special Days a reality this year. A huge thank you to everyone who attended and helped to make the evening such a fantastic success.
