The countdown has begun! We are weeks away from opening Willow’s very first charity shop. And it’s pretty big news for the charity.
So, what can we tell you? At the moment, the shop fit is in progress. We receive news from the team daily including stripping stuff out, ceilings going up, new doors going in and decoration, too. My favourite update so far, in all sincerity, is ‘wires for ceiling commence’. We now have a whole ceiling as well by the way (see pics above).
Why is every update so exciting? Because it all means we’re one step closer to our grand opening on 27th February.
Our new shop is in Welwyn Garden City and opposite Sainsbury’s, replacing music shop City Sounds. Lisa, our store manager, and some of the team are already there getting ready for opening. They’re also able to accept donations so if you’re having a clear out, do pop by with your bags of goodies.
We’re also looking for volunteers to help out in store from now, too. Interested? Email Lisa and she’ll be in touch.
Our aim is to be able to offer a Special Day for every seriously ill young adult across the UK. Our next chapter, our shops, is going to help us do just that.
