Eight years of GoatFest

August 11, 2016

We’re delighted to announce that local music festival, GoatFest, is supporting Willow this year. We hear from Rowan, festival founder and event organiser:

“GoatFest is my baby – it was one of the first events I created and it was such a success my passion just grew from there.

I think we’ve established ourselves as one of the best music events in the area. The talent we have on show is really high. This year, we’re really excited about the new location although we loved the atmosphere at the old venue (The Goat inn) and really don’t want to lose that as we grow. The bigger space means we can have a DJ tipi area, more food stalls and an acoustic stage. The Goat Inn is also still supporting us by running the bar, which is amazing. It’s set to be the biggest and best!

It’s always been really important to me that GoatFest gives back to the community. We’ve supported local charity Isabel Hospice, where my grandpa spent time before he passed away, for the last seven years. The events growth means we can also grow our charitable giving and Willow is another charity that’s close to my heart.

My family has been involved in supporting Willow for a long time and it really is amazing what a Special Day can do for young adults with life-threatening conditions.

GoatFest was founded on having fun and creating something special that people could enjoy. Our ethos really complements Willow’s vision, bringing people together and creating happy memories.

Everyone that comes along to the event has a huge impact to both charities, simply by being there. I love that GoatFest has become a platform for this.

I’d also like to invite you to our festival. It’s taking place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday during the bank holiday weekend at the Great Field, Codicote, Hertfordshire.

You can buy tickets online or if you attend as a Willow volunteer you get a free ticket for the day. See you there?”
