Internship Opportunities at Willow

From time to time Willow is able to offer internship opportunities that will provide the successful candidate(s) meaningful work experience through involvement in specific projects and/or the general operational life of the charity.

We aim to provide valuable work experience for aspiring professionals who are keen to work within a voluntary sector organisation.

Intern roles may include:

•    Project specific roles for defined tasks that may be undertaken on a part-time basis and potentially combined with academic study.  Details of project specific intern opportunities will be advertised here.

•    General support roles in operational departments including marketing and communications, philanthropy and special events, charitable giving, community fundraising and finance.  Opportunities will be advertised here but Willow will also consider ad hoc applications for internships within general support roles – please see how to apply later on.

Location: Our head office is based Welwyn Garden City (Gate House is a few minutes walk from Welwyn Garden City station) and all roles will be based here.  Depending on the nature of the internship role, there may be some travel required, for example to one of our charity retail stores in Hertfordshire.

Supervision: Each intern will be allocated a responsible member of staff to supervise and support their work and to ensure that they get the very best experience from their time with Willow.  This person may be the sponsor for a specific project or Willow staff member from the area where the intern is placed.

Expenses: Willow will pay reasonable travel expenses and up to £5 per day meal expenses.
