Lego for Luc
Rory’s dad, Luc, sadly passed away from cancer in 2024. For their Special Day, they had a family trip to Legoland, which gave them previous memories together to cherish forever. Inspired by their trip, Rory took on his very own fundraising challenge.

“He was up extremely early the next day because he was so excited to continue!”
Last year, Rory’s sister Bea completed a sponsored cycle to raise money for Willow in their dad’s memory. This year, Rory wanted to complete his own challenge, so inspired by their trip to Legoland, he built as many lego sets as he could to raise money so more families like his can create cherished memories together.
Sam, Rory and Bea’s mum, told us more:
“Willow sent us to Legoland when Luc was ill, so we wanted to do something to help raise money so other people could experience a special day. Rory is absolutely Lego mad and used to love playing with Lego with Luc. He built all the minibags in 8 hours 54 minutes.
“ We had lots of donations from friends and family and there were many Vinted bargains! Rory started the challenge at a celebration for Luc and continued making them at home. He wanted to continue working on them throughout the night, but we sent him to bed and he was up extremely early the next day because he was so excited to continue! He raised £2,444.75 and since Luc’s funeral in August 2024 we have raised £10,064.63 for Willow.”
