Rowena’s nostalgic retreat

Rowena from Chepstow in Monmouthshire had an action-packed time at Center Parcs with her husband Greg and two children on her Special Break. It was a chance for her to create new precious memories with her family, in a place close to her heart.

“Our Special Break allowed us to enjoy time together without thinking too much about the future.”

Rowena’s story

“Before my illness I enjoyed keeping active, weight-lifting, learning new languages and spending time out and about with my family. Since I was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, I have not known where to turn or what to think.

“I now tire very easily and experience neck and shoulder pain. I have had to take a step back from active play with my children and cannot go to my spin class for the strain on my neck. Our Special Break allowed us to enjoy time together without thinking too much about the future.

“There was so much more packed into the weekend. I felt energised enough to go swimming and on walks with my family. The lodge and surrounding area was beautiful, serene and relaxing. There were many highlights, including swimming with my family and taking the children on a pony ride, the jacuzzi bath, pedalo-ing with my family, pancakes, and peaceful walks.

“Center Parcs has had a special place in my heart for years, as I remember it from when I was young. It will now have a special place in my young family’s heart.”
