Eve’s WWE experience

Eve, 24, from Lancashire, was referred to Willow by Young Lives vs Cancer, while undergoing treatment for salivary gland cancer. Willow arranged a Special Day, taking Eve on a trip to London to see WWE Monday Night Raw, giving her an unforgettable experience.

Wrestle match time!
It’s a knockout!

“It felt very special to do something I wouldn’t be able to do normally and to be out and about enjoying myself.”

Eve’s story

“Being diagnosed with cancer and undergoing treatment really put my life on hold, I had to step aside from kickboxing and learning to drive while undergoing my treatment. Unfortunately, my initial treatment took place through December which had an impact on mine and my family’s Christmas. Returning back to normal life after treatment has also been quite a difficult time, but support from The Christie, a specialist cancer hospital, has made a big difference in my experience throughout it all.

“It was really exciting setting off for my Special Day. Having all the arrangements sorted out before leaving meant that me and my sister could enjoy our journey without worrying about the details. It felt very special to do something I wouldn’t be able to do normally and to be out and about enjoying myself.

“My personal highlight was seeing my favourite wrestler in person. It felt really special to be at a televised show and so near the ring with a great view. I never thought I’d be able to watch this so up close, and it was nice to take my sister along with me.

“The event itself and the experience of me and my sister being together in London is a memory I’ll cherish. It was such a special treat especially after going through some tough months.”
