Our charity shop in Welwyn Garden City has celebrated 10 years!

Willow’s charity shop has marked a decade of serving the local community with a special celebration on 27 February.

To mark the occasion, the shop, located at 13 Wigmores South, stayed open for an extra hour and offered customers 10% off items in store. Shoppers were also treated to cake and a tombola to help them get into the party spirit.

Co-Managers Steve Charlesworth and Sarah Drinkwater reflected on the shop’s milestone. Steve said, “Wow – I can’t believe we’ve been in Welwyn Garden City for 10 years! It’s brilliant being part of the Willow team and seeing how the charity has evolved over the years.”

Sarah added, “It makes us so proud to be a part of the history of this shop. Willow has supported more than 22,000 seriously ill young adults and knowing that Steve and I play a part in that is lovely.”

Willow’s Chief Executive Officer, Jonathan Aves, expressed his gratitude, saying, “I would like to say a huge thank you to the staff, volunteers, and people of Welwyn Garden City who have made this shop a success over the last 10 years. Thanks to your support, we’re able to deliver special days, breaks, and treats to seriously ill young adults across the UK when they need it most.”

Since opening in 2015, the shop has played a key role in raising funds to help seriously ill young adults make lasting memories, selling clothing, accessories, children’s toys, books and more. The 10th anniversary celebration was a chance to thank the local community for their continued support and highlight the difference their contributions make.

We look forward to many more years of serving customers in Welwyn Garden City!
