On Monday 19 May, we were delighted to welcome 23 teams to Brocket Hall for the annual Willow Golf Classic, raising over £40,000 to help provide more Special Days for seriously ill young adults.
Brocket Hall holds a special place in Willow’s history. It’s where the charity was launched in 1999 and is home to the Willow tree planted in memory of Anna, the daughter of our founders Bob and Megs Wilson. Anna’s legacy inspired the name of the charity and continues to shape everything we do.
The day brought together supporters, golfers and famous faces from the world of sport, including Aaron Ramsdale, Jack Wilshere, Lee Dixon, Marlon Harewood and Stuart Pearce. Their involvement helped make the event even more memorable.
We were also joined by Matt Newell, a Willow beneficiary who had his Special Day earlier this year at the England v New Zealand rugby match. Matt, who is 25 and lives with lymphoma, shared his story and spoke about the impact of his Special Day. His words were a powerful reminder of why events like this matter.
A big thank you goes to our headline sponsors Weston Homes for their generous support, and to everyone who played, donated or contributed to the success of the day.
