Potenza powers through 40 miles for seriously ill young adults

A huge congratulations and heartfelt thank you goes to the incredible team at Potenza Technology Limited, who recently took on a mammoth 40-mile walking challenge in support of Willow – raising a fantastic £2,254 in the process!

On Sunday 12 April, the team were up, out and off before even the sun had woken up. They do something for charity every month, but this was different. Beginning at their Coventry office at 5am, the team’s aim was to complete the full Coventry Way – a circular route that spans 40 miles of countryside, tracks and trails. The mission? To challenge themselves physically and mentally, while raising vital funds for seriously ill young adults.

“We’re a competitive bunch,” said Colin, Head of Systems, Software & Electronics at Potenza. “Each month we take on something new as a group – but this time, we wanted to do something that pushed our limits and made a real difference.”

As the hours passed, support rolled in with friends, family and colleagues joining the team for different sections of the route, bringing food, drink, medical supplies and a big morale boost!

“It was a true team effort,” Colin continued.

But did they manage to complete all 40 miles in one day? Of course they did – we never had a doubt!

“We completed the full 40 mile trek at around 9pm, having used all of our mental and physical strength to get to the finish line,” Colin said. “We are very proud to have raised £2,254 for such a great cause.”

The funds raised will help Willow continue its work providing special experiences for young adults with serious illnesses.

“The aches and pains suffered over the following few weeks were definitely worth it and people are already talking about what our next fundraising challenge will be!”
