Becky’s volunteering story
Becky began volunteering with Willow after moving to Hertfordshire a few years ago. With a background in design and volunteering abroad, she chose to give her time to support our Communications team. Here, Becky shares her experience as a Willow volunteer.

“It’s incredible to be part of something bigger, working alongside passionate people who are making a real difference. ”
“My name is Rebecca. I’m 25 and originally from the Cotswolds but I moved to Hertfordshire a few years ago. Travelling has always been a passion of mine and through my time volunteering abroad I discovered how deeply rewarding it is to give back.
“When I wanted to continue volunteering closer to home, I came across Willow online and saw they needed help in their Communications team.
“With a background in design and some availability once a week, I decided to offer my time. From the very start, the Willow team welcomed me with open arms. Their warmth and gratitude made me feel like I was useful and a part of their team.
“What I treasure most about volunteering with Willow is knowing that my skills and time contribute to a collective effort that creates special days for seriously ill young adults. It’s incredible to be part of something bigger, working alongside passionate people who are making a real difference.
“If you ever find yourself with a day or hour in the week free, I wholeheartedly encourage you to consider volunteering with Willow.
“It’s a wonderful charity with a kind and inspiring team, and the impact you can make is beautiful.”
