On Thursday 22 October, A Night to Remember III arrived at Grosvenor House in London’s Mayfair to raise money for a number of charities, including Willow.
This glittering event featured 14 former footballer players who bravely stepped into the boxing ring to face each other in seven three-round bouts. They were expertly refereed by Ian John-Lewis and judged by Darren Barker, Johnny Nelson and Spencer Oliver. In an evening hosted by Jim White, a familiar voice to listeners of TalkSPORT, other well-known faces included Boxing Master of Ceremonies Aky Karim, Auctioneer Martin Bayfield, and former England international footballers Glen Johnson and David Bentley, who took part in a popular football question and answer session.
The brainchild of former Arsenal goalkeeper Graham Stack through Pro Project Promotions, and supported by Willow, the goal was raising funds for various charities including Willow, as part of a longer-term fundraising initiative.
Paul Nanson, Deputy Director of Fundraising & Events, said “We were absolutely delighted to be part of A Night to Remember III and are incredibly grateful to Graham Stack for supporting Willow. Events like this help us create unforgettable experiences for seriously ill young adults, giving them the chance to make precious memories with their loved ones. Thank you to Graham and everyone who supported the evening for helping make more of these special moments possible.”
