On Thursday 15 October, we were delighted to host our second dinner celebrating the life of Willow’s founder, Megs Wilson, and her life-long connection with Arsenal. Thanks to the funds raised, Willow will be able to provide even more Special Days for young people living with serious illness.
A select group attended the intimate event at the Emirates Stadium, enjoying a thoughtfully curated three-course meal. They then had the opportunity take part in a two-panel discussion hosted by Honorary President, David Seaman and Jim Rosenthal, with Arsenal defenders Lee Dixon, Carl Jenkinson, Lauren, Matthew Upson and Nigel Winterburn also on stage to answer questions.
We were delighted to have one of our beneficiaries, and Arsenal superfan, Jack, take the stage to tell his story. Jack has recently finished chemotherapy treatment for hodgkin lymphoma. He and his family had a weekend away for his Special Break, and his story of resilience and recovery moved everyone in the room.
Martin Bayfield expertly hosted the auction for an original artwork by Terry Kneeshaw, featuring legendary players from some of the club’s most memorable eras, and signed by David Seaman, Lee Dixon, Lauren and Nigel Winterburn Mayer, raising £8,000.
We are also grateful to guest of honour Paul White, whose support made the event possible.
