Celebrating the tenth Willow Shoot Day with a bang

May 12, 2017

Willow’s Life-Presidents Bob and Megs Wilson were joined by more than 120 guests, including fellow Arsenal legends David Seaman and Lee Dixon, at the tenth annual Willow Shoot Day. Held on Friday 5 May at the prestigious Royal Berkshire Shooting School, the fundraising event saw proceeds of more than £65,000 raised to help young adults living with serious illness.

This annual event is the brainchild of Paul White of Frogmore Property Company and Greg Nicholson, former Executive Director of CBRE. With enormous support from companies including James Andrew International, JLL, Almacantar, Allsop, Aquila Holdings, Gensler, Brewin Dolphin, Marchfield Group, McLaren Group and White Druce & Brown. The Willow Shoot Day is always a roaring success and has raised more than £550,000 for the charity since it began in 2008. A phenomenal amount that has created 400 Special Days and with an average of four people experiencing every Special Day, this event has made a positive impact on the lives of 1,600 people affected by serious illness.

This year the caps were sponsored by Colliers, and provided much needed shade from the sun which was shining brightly on the guests through the day, before they enjoyed a champagne reception, lunch and auction. Stand 5 was taken over by Purdey who offered teams the opportunity to use a Purdey’s gun and double their score, which raised nearly £800 for Willow. Of the final total, an incredible £41,000 was raised on the day from a host of great auction prizes, including a year’s worth of fine dining, a private shoot with Ian and Liam Botham, the opportunity to have a new range of Boux Avenue lingerie named after you, donated by Theo Paphitis, weekend trips and more.

Thank you to Royal Berkshire Shooting School for hosting and to all who attended and gave so generously on the day.
