Celebrities tee off at the Willow Golf Classic

May 19, 2015

It was a wet start to the day, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of a host of famous sporting heroes at this year’s Willow Golf Classic. Mark Foster, David Seaman, Lee Dixon, Rory Underwood and Ossie Ardiles were among the celebrities competing in the charity golf day held at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire on Monday May 18. Teams, joined by Willow Life President Bob Wilson, tee’d off in aid of Willow.

A total of eighteen teams of both guests and celebrities competed on the day. Some fantastic auction prizes and on-course competitions helped to raise vital funds on the day, including a Jack Nicklaus signed and framed banknote, private dining with cricketer Chris Cowdrey, golfing experiences and sporting memorabilia.

This was the sixteenth annual Willow Golf Classic held at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire. Funds raised on the day reached a fantastic £49,000 and will help to create many more Special Days.

David White, Willow’s chief executive, said: “The Willow Golf Classic is always a much anticipated event and a great start to the Charity’s Summer of events. Thanks must go to our loyal celebrities and supporters who attend each year as well as to the many new guests who took to the course today. The success of this event will help us to reach out to many more seriously ill young adults and their families at a time when they need it most.”
