David Seaman’s first fishing event for Willow raises over £18,000

Friday 2 and Saturday 3 August 2024 saw our Honorary President, David Seaman MBE, host his inaugural Catch of the Day fishing event on behalf of Willow.

The brand new event raised more than £18,000 and had 35 people casting lines at Linear Fisheries in Oxford, in the hope of catching the biggest carp and catfish. At the end of the weekend, prizes were awarded to winners Adam Garrett who caught a 34lb carp, and Chris Wilkins with a 55lb catfish. Steve Leslie was runner up in both competitions.

The group also featured some of the biggest names in fishing including Lee Mozza Morris, Damian Clarke, Scott Lloyd, Tom Maker and Nigel Botherway.

David said, “It was incredible to host my very first Willow event and to meet so many of our supporters around the lake. I’d like to say a special thank you to all of our generous sponsors and everyone who attended to help make the weekend a great success.”

Catch of the Day was sponsored by Fishing Republic and Mainline Baits, with support from Game Plan Solutions, Korda and Frank’s Hot Sauce.
