Share your precious memories for Willow’s #Big21 Birthday!

July 30, 2020

21 years, 17,000 Special Days, countless precious memories: Willow founders and Life Presidents, Megs and Bob Wilson look ahead to our #Big21 Birthday

21 years ago, in the summer of 1999, Bob and I made the bold decision to found a new charity. We wanted to celebrate the life of our daughter Anna and the joyful spirit she brought to every day and everyone she met. We set up Willow to create much needed Special Days for seriously ill young adults between the ages 16-40. We knew the chance to spend precious time and create magic memories with loved ones was invaluable. Seventeen Special Days were created in that first year, from evenings out to see Mamma Mia or the Lion King, to afternoons watching Arsenal and meeting the stars.

Now over 17,000 Special Days later – days that have touched the lives of hundreds of thousands of people – we’ve come a very long way.

Thankfully with your support, we’re emerging from the lockdown even more focused on helping seriously ill young men and women create precious moments together with their loved ones. As we approach our 21st birthday at the end of August, we would be delighted if you would join us in celebrating Anna’s legacy.

Share your precious memories

Did you or someone close to you have a Special Day in the last 21 years? We’d love to hear about that day, and share some of the lasting memories you’ve treasured. If you could share any photos or videos to bring your story to life we’d be delighted to see them! Click here to share your precious memories

Take on the #Big21 Challenge!

Would you like to make sure that Willow goes from strength to strength, and continues to be there for seriously ill young 16-40 year olds for many years to come? We invite you to join us in our #Big21 Challenge in August, designing your own 21 themed challenge in order to support the future of Special Days. Click to sign up to the #Big21 Challenge!

Help make more Special Days and precious memories

Of course if you prefer a less challenging option, you can simply donate to ensure those Special Days are there for everyone in need. 21 is a big anniversary for all of us. We are so glad you have been with us on this journey and helped Willow flourish into the incredible charity it is today. Thank you for your understanding of what we do and why we do it. Donate now.

With very best wishes from all of us at Willow, and thanks for your invaluable, ongoing support.
