The vibrant and colourful Stars on Canvas collection was unveiled to contributing celebrities and artists at the private view last night in advance of the exhibition opening to the public on November 20.
Celebrities including actors Reece Shearsmith (League of Gentleman), Danny John-Jules (Red Dwarf) and Patrick Robinson (Casualty) joined a host of artists to admire the eclectic mix of artworks. The exhibition can be found at The Hub, located in the bustling Heddon Street in the heart of London’s West End, just off Regent Street – generously donated to Willow by The Crown Estate.
Artworks adorning the walls have been created by top artists and celebrities from film star, John Hurt, singers Robbie Williams and Annie Lennox, to sporting hero Mo Farah. Artists and illustrators including award winners Richard Long and JJ Adams, alongside original illustrations by their creators – Bagpuss by Peter Firmin and the Gruffalo by Axel Scheffler.
The full collection was available to bid for online via eBay from 13-23 November and to view at The Hub, 10 Heddon Street, London W1B 4BX until Sunday November 23. The auction is now closed but was a huge success, thank you so much to all who contributed and to all involved. All funds raised will go towards making many more Special Days a reality across the UK.
