Jessica’s Special Day story

When Jessica was diagnosed with Lymphoma, all her and her mum wanted was some time alone together. Willow organised afternoon tea at Claridge’s, a trip to a wedding exhibition along with a flight on the London Eye for both Jessica and her mum.

I live with my parents and my brother. Our lives completely changed when I was diagnosed – we were all crushed. But my family have been absolutely amazing, supporting me through it all; holding my hand during chemo, telling me I was still beautiful when I lost all my hair. They never let me give up hope.

This Special Day was a way of me saying thank you and would allow us to forget our worries about my upcoming scan and just have a good time the way we used to

We are now stronger together and look forward to making new memories. During treatment I was not allowed to go out in any busy public places such as shops, restaurants or parties so I couldn’t wait for treatment to finish so I could do all of these things again. I looked forward to my Special Day for so long knowing that it would be the first time I could go out and enjoy myself for the first time in ages.

My mum has been by my side every step of the way through my treatment and I couldn’t have done it without her. Having my Special Day allowed us both to have precious quality time together and reminded us that it was time to get our lives back on track. On our Special Day we made so many memories that we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.

My mum and I enjoyed every second that we were in London. I would like to thank Willow for giving us this incredible trip – we are extremely grateful. I think this charity is amazing and I will be raising money for you in the near future”
