Kerry’s Special Day story

36-year-old Kerry was dealing with the death of the father of her little boy when she was diagnosed with cancer. With all her treatment and grieving over their loss, having a Special Day meant that Kerry was able to put everything to one side and focus on herself.

It’s been a year since I was diagnosed with breast cancer and what a year it has been. Life had already dealt me a rough hand, having had to deal with the death of my son’s father the year before.

Being told I had cancer really rocked my world. At first, I felt as if I was being tested in life. I’ve been through so much. Having endured chemotherapy, a double mastectomy then radiotherapy, when Willow offered a break away from it all, it was like a light at the end of the tunnel. I had the most amazing support from my nurses, family and friends but having that break away with my partner was just what I needed.

We were lucky enough to go to a luxury lodge in the Blackwood Forest for a weekend which was amazing in every way possible.

It’s a year on and I am now looking forward to the future. Thank you Willow, for giving me a relaxing weekend; where I didn’t give cancer a second thought.

When Willow offered a break away from it all, it was like a light at the end of the tunnel.
