Marcus and Joe run in memory of their mum

Marcus and his brother, Joe, ran in the AJ Bell Great Bristol Run for Willow, and raised an astonishing £1,115 for seriously ill young adults!

“I’m not a huge fan of running and it’s not an activity I normally do. To keep myself truly dedicated to training, I wanted to have something that would hold me accountable.

“The things that Willow did meant that my brother and I could spend time with our mum, away from the hospital, and also that our dad was able to escape from the stresses her illness brought.

“The Special Days we shared are some of our earliest memories and that just proves how much of an impact this charity has on family and friends of seriously ill young adults.”

“We were so young when our mum passed away but, for me, the special days we shared are some of my earliest memories and that just proves how much of an impact this charity has on family and friends of seriously ill young adults.”

We’re incredibly grateful to Marcus, Joe and their family for sharing their story and fundraising to help other families create precious memories, just as they were able to with their mum.

The impact of a Special Day lasts far beyond the day itself, and it means so much to see that experience inspire them to run for Willow and support our work. Thanks to their generosity, we can continue creating Special Days for more beneficiaries and their loved ones.
