Natasha’s Edinburgh dream
Natasha, 25, had a Special Break with her boyfriend Callum in Edinburgh. It was something new for the both of them having not visited the city before.

“We had an amazing time.”
Natasha’s story
“I work in a family-run pub, which I’ve been doing for two years now, and I have strong family connections with mine and my boyfriend’s family, who support me and make sure I’m okay.
“I was 24 when I was diagnosed with cancer. I was travelling a lot with my best friend, and still working at the pub. Both of those things had to stop.
“I wasn’t able to drive to the shops, see my friends, or take my dog for walks. Treatment took a lot of my hair, which left me consistently self-conscious, and I was always lacking energy and not able to keep up with everyone else.”
“We were able to see so much of Edinburgh.”
“I love photography so visiting new places is great as it means I can go and take photos. We had an amazing time in Edinburgh. The hotel was lovely, and it didn’t rain whilst we were there, which was great. We were able to see so much of the city, even though it was extra busy.
“We went to the Johnnie Walker whisky experience where they also offered mocktail versions of the drinks as I don’t like whisky and I am not drinking, but I love learning about the culture and foundation of companies like that.
“We also went to the botanical light show as Christmas lights are my favourite thing in the wintertime. It was a Christmas overload.
“I was grateful that I was able to have my Special Break and it was exactly how I’d imagined it would be.”
