Thomas’ Special Day story
Thomas (23), lived in London but had to move back to Northern Ireland to live with his parents after being diagnosed with lymphoma. He is a massive Liverpool fan so his Special Day at the Liverpool training ground meeting the players and the manager was the best thing a fan could ask for.

My Special Day was the best thing a fan could ask for!
Meeting the Liverpool team and the manager during such a historic season is something I will never forget.
Thomas
I was working on a placement in London when I was first diagnosed. My parents run their own business in Northern Ireland, when my Mum came to visit me she thought I had lost a lot of weight and I was also having night sweats so she took me to hospital where they told me I have lymphoma.
I then had to move back in with my Mum and Dad and started treatment a month later. Initially the chemotherapy didn’t work so it took a while to get the lymphoma under control and even when I was ready for a bone marrow transplant it broke out again. Eventually I had the transplant and a year later I am now getting back to normal.
I am a massive obsessive Liverpool fan, we had wanted to see a game for so long but it took having lymphoma to decide we had to actually go. Meeting the Liverpool team and the manager during such a historic season is something I will never forget. Everything went amazingly so I couldn’t have asked for more. Not many people have the chance to meet the players and I can’t really believe it actually happened.
My Special Day is a memory my Dad and my brother and I will have forever, it is the best thing a fan could ask for and it will be hard to beat.
