We’re delighted to report that the Willow Ball returned with a bang last week at the Savoy hotel in London. After we had to go virtual in 2020, it was a real pleasure to welcome supporters old and new to join us in person for an evening of great entertainment, food, and inspirational stories about the impact of Willow’s work.
All in all the event raised an incredible £270,000 from sales, donations and on-the-night fundraising, all of which will help Willow create more magic moments and precious memories for seriously ill 16-40 year olds.
Every year at our Ball we give the Willow at Heart award to someone who has gone above and beyond in helping Willow bring magic to even more seriously ill 16-40 year olds. This year, in recognition of their amazing work in extraordinarily challenging times, we were delighted to give the award to all the medical professionals who refer patients to Willow for Special Days and Special Treats. We were particularly pleased that one of Willow’s own medical advisors, Beverley Barclay MBE was able to accept the award from our founders and Life Presidents, Bob and Megs Wilson, on behalf of her colleagues.
“We’re so grateful to all our supporters who joined us for this year’s Ball,” said Willow Chief Executive, Jonathan Ave. “After a challenging couple of years for Willow, it was wonderful to be back hosting large events again, celebrating life with our friends and supporters. We’ve been blown away by the loyalty and generosity of all of our supporters who have helped us adapt to difficult times and come back better than ever.”
