It was a real pleasure to welcome supporters old and new to join us at the Willow Ball 2022 at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane for an amazing evening of fantastic entertainment and food. It was great to be able to hear at first hand inspirational stories about the impact of a Special Day, including an emotional speech from Tim Roberts, father of Grace who you may remember from the Christmas Appeal.
In total the event raised a staggering £346,000, all of which will help Willow to create more extraordinary experiences and precious memories for seriously ill 16-40 year olds.
Every year at the Ball the Willow at Heart award is awarded to someone who has gone above and beyond in helping Willow bring magic to even more young adults living with a life limiting illness across the UK. This year, in recognition of his amazing work in helping to create so many Special Days, Paul White MBE, was nominated and the committee then unanimously voted for him. The award was presented by our founders and Life Presidents, Bob and Megs Wilson. Paul, Chairman of Frogmore Estates PLC, has been a prolific and enthusiastic fundraiser for Willow since he first heard about the charity in 2005.
“We’re so grateful to our supporters who came along to this year’s Ball,” said Willow Chief Executive, Jonathan Aves. “It was wonderful to be able to welcome so many of you again, celebrating life with our Willow family and friends. We’ve been blown away by the loyalty and generosity of all of our supporters who have helped us to provide some really amazing Special Days for so many seriously ill young adults.”
The 2023 Willow Ball will take place at the Grand Connaught Rooms on Saturday 18 November 2023.
