Turning the tables on Piers Morgan

December 1, 2015

On Thursday 26 November, at the luxurious Champneys in Tring, the tables were turned on television presenter, writer, journalist, talk show host, columnist and Arsenal football fan Piers Morgan. He became the interviewee for just one night only, at an exclusive dinner in aid of Willow.

The Good Morning Britain presenter swapped sofa for hot seat, and answered questions from former Eastenders actor and presenter, Tom Watt.

Guests were privy to Piers’ views and anecdotes about his career and love for Arsenal FC.

As expected, Piers didn’t hold back and the lively question and answer session soon turned from light-hearted humour into a somewhat heated discussion about Arsenal – a topic about which Piers is very passionate. The Arsenal legends in the audience, including David Seaman, Ian Wright and Alan Smith, as well as Willow Life-President Bob Wilson, all heard first hand his promise to wear a full Spurs kit if Arsenal wins the Premier League!

Piers himself was delighted to spend time with Bob Wilson. He commented: “Bob was Arsenal’s goalkeeper when I first became a fan more than 40 years ago and I even had a poster of him on my bedroom wall. He was a wonderful player and he’s a great guy too. He and his wife Megs have been through unimaginable grief following the loss of their daughter Anna to cancer and they created a charity to help others in similar positions. I have huge admiration for their efforts and am delighted to help them with this fundraising event for such a terrific cause.”

The evening was a huge success for Willow, with guests giving generously on the night. Big thanks to Stephen Purdew and his team at Champneys for making it all possible.
