Walkers across the UK get involved with Lioness, Leah Williamson’s first Willow fundraising event
August 13, 2024
In July 2024, Willow joined forces with ambassador and England Women’s Captain, Leah Williamson, to launch a new fundraising challenge.
The virtual ‘Williamson’s Walk’ saw hundreds of people from across the UK walk 20km to raise over £18,000 to help seriously ill young adults make precious memories with loved ones.
Leah said, “I’m so excited to be involved with this event, raising money for Willow. As football fans will know, it was two years ago this month that the Lionesses made history by winning the Euros. It’s a privilege to be able to look back on that special time, while helping raise money for a brilliant cause.”
Participants were able to take part from anywhere in the country, but many walked between the Emirates Stadium and Wembley Stadium, the route which inspired the challenge.
Those taking part also received a free, exclusive t-shirt when they secured their first donation.
