Willow celebrates Volunteers Week 2026

Willow marked the start of Volunteers’ Week on Monday 1 June by celebrating the incredible contribution our volunteers make each week to support seriously ill young adults.

Volunteers were surprised, excited and emotional to receive their well-deserved Room to Reward gifts as part of the celebrations.

Each year, Willow recognises the time, effort and dedication of our wonderful volunteers, whose support makes our work possible every day. At our Welwyn Garden City shop, the team marked the occasion by coming together over cake and pizza. Volunteers across Willow, from those supporting our shops and office teams to those helping at events and Special Days, were also recognised for everything they contribute.

We’re delighted to recognise this year’s Room to Reward recipients:

  • Phil – Special Days and Events volunteer
  • Ian – Events volunteer
  • Ray – Finance volunteer
  • Pam – Retail volunteer at Welwyn Garden City
  • Karen – Charitable Giving volunteer
  • Joanne – Retail volunteer at Hatfield
  • Caroline – Special Days volunteer

Room to Reward is a national scheme that partners with hotels and holiday parks to donate unsold rooms to volunteers who go above and beyond, and each volunteer was gifted with a one or two night stay, with each partnered hotel and holiday park going the extra mile to make our volunteers feel truly appreciated.

Pam, who’s volunteered with Willow for nearly eight years, told us:

“I would just like to say a big thank you for my award. I’ve never won anything like this before, and it was such a surprise. Working at Willow means so much to me and it has changed my life. Thank you for nominating me.”

Every volunteer plays an important part in Willow’s work.

Whether you support with delivering our Special Days, breaks and treat boxes, help at events, volunteer in our shops or assist our office teams, your time and dedication make a real difference. Thank you for everything you do.
