Supporters came together in Welwyn Garden City on Thursday 17 July to take part in our first ever firewalk fundraising challenge.
Held at the Doctors Tonic, the event saw 20 participants guided by professional instructors to walk barefoot across hot embers. The challenge encouraged everyone to push past their fears and take on something completely new, helping us provide more Special Days for seriously ill young adults.
We were proud to partner with Black Point Recruitment and Welwyn Garden City BID to make the evening possible. Black Point Recruitment not only generously sponsored the event but also stepped up to be the first to take on the Firewalk.
“As a local business, it was an honour to sponsor the event as well as take part. Community events like this are very important to us as a company and it’s great to be able to give back” said Paul from Black Point Recruitment.
The evening also brought together local organisations and supporters, offering a chance to connect after the challenge.
“This was such a fantastic event” said Vicky from the Howard Centre. “It provided a great opportunity to network and face our fears on the fire.”
Lee from Welwyn Garden City BID added, “It was fantastic to see so many local businesses come together to take on the heat of the Willow Firewalk. Well done to everyone who took part and helped raise funds for Willow.”
