Willow joins forces with Not Another Bunch of Flowers to create new Positivity Packs
April 28, 2020
We’re delighted to announce that Willow is teaming up with Not Another Bunch of Flowers to deliver special Positivity Packs to hundreds of people who have had their Special Days postponed owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Many of our beneficiaries are those most at risk from the coronavirus, and they face self isolation and lockdown, possibly for the rest of the year. We’re devastated that over 600 people have had their Special Day put on hold. A Willow Special Day is often something to look forward to after months and years of hospital appointments and treatment.
We have teamed up with gift company Not Another Bunch of Flowers to deliver a message of hope to its beneficiaries. Not Another Bunch of Flowers was founded by Anikka Burton in 2014, after her own frustrations with gifts when she was diagnosed with breast cancer at 33. She found that flowers weren’t allowed in many hospitals, and many gifts weren’t suitable for people recovering from chemo or radiotherapy. She founded Not Another Bunch of Flowers to offer a stylish range of gifts suitable for those facing surgery or undergoing treatment.
“We are devastated that Willow has had to temporarily suspend its Special Day service,” said Willow Chief Executive Jonathan Aves. “We know how disappointed our beneficiaries are. Our Positivity Packs can’t replace a Special Day, but we hope that they can spread a little joy in the midst of lockdown. We’re delighted to be able to work with a great company like Not Another Bunch of Flowers, who really understand what it can be like to live with serious illness. We’re continuing to work hard to make Special Day happen as soon as possible, and we look forward to building this great partnership beyond the lockdown.”
“I know what it can be like going through the endless appointments and hospital visits when you have cancer,” said Anikka Burton from Not Another Bunch of Flowers “Having something to look forward to can be so important. Our partnership with Willow is so exciting, and we look forward to bringing a little sunshine to people in these difficult times.”
Not Another Bunch of Flowers hopes to send the first of its Willow Positivity Packs out this week, and over the coming month plans to initially deliver over 300, to seriously ill young adults across the UK. If you’d like to support Willow, please visit willowfoundation.org.uk/donate
