Willow opens new charity shop with support from Honorary President

November 4, 2024

On 2 November 2024, we celebrated the grand opening of our new charity shop at 7 Arcade Walk, Hitchin.

Willow received a warm reception from the local community and our Honorary President, Frankie Seaman was there to cut the ribbon. Meanwhile, property consultants and chartered surveyors, Kirkby Diamond were in attendance to award Willow with a generous donation.

The opening featured activities for all ages, including a children’s lucky dip and a raffle with luxury hampers. Shoppers enjoyed exploring a range of pre-loved fashion, accessories, and home goods, with each purchase directly supporting our mission to create lasting memories for young adults facing serious illnesses.

Frankie commented, “It’s an honour to be part of this special day. Willow’s shops play a crucial role in raising funds to create memorable experiences for seriously ill young adults. I hope the people of Hitchin will support this new shop and help us continue to make a real difference.”

Hitchin’s Town Centre Manager, Tom Hardy, also welcomed the new addition, emphasising its positive impact by saying, “I’m delighted to welcome Willow to Hitchin. This shop not only provides sustainable shopping options but also supports an incredibly important cause. I encourage everyone in our community to support the great work Willow does.”

With the shop open seven days a week, locals can support Willow’s cause by shopping in-store, donating pre-loved items or volunteering. This new Hitchin location marks the eighth addition to our growing network of shops across Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us, making it a day to remember.
