Elita’s Special Treat box

Twenty-year-old Elita from Monikie, Angus, is currently receiving treatment for renal cancer. Willow arranged for her to receive a special treat box filled with bespoke items just for Elita.

“I was so excited to receive a special treat box. It was lovely to feel special and unwrap all the lovely treats.”

Elita’s journey

“I am the youngest of three children and had just left home to go and study at Glasgow University. What I expected to be one of the most exciting years of my life turned out to be the hardest. Being given a diagnosis of stage four cancer is hard at any age but seems especially hard at 19. Despite my diagnosis and starting palliative treatment I have managed to complete my first year of university which I am really proud of.

“My older brother and sister are both away at university too but we are looking forward to a summer together. Trying to stay positive is hard but we are very close and are all there to support one another. My older brother is on an athletic scholarship to the USA so it is especially hard for him to be away from home.

“These little things make such a difference.”
