Willow news

Willow features on the famous Piccadilly Lights!

On Thursday 6 November, Willow was featured on Europe’s largest advertising screen at Piccadilly Circus in London! This exciting opportunity aimed to spotlight some of the incredible stories of individuals who have benefited from a special day, break or treat, and draw attention to the charity.

Eyes were drawn up to the charity’s recognisable purple on the 780 sq m curved screen as our feature video began playing at the peak commuter time of 5:30pm. Like the pages of a photo album, Londoners were walked through moving stories of our beneficiaries’ unique special days and breaks with their loved ones.

“It was such a moving moment seeing our beneficiaries’ stories lighting up the most famous screen in the UK and possibly Europe! We’re so grateful to have been given this opportunity to share Willow’s mission and in such a huge way,” said Emma Taplin, Communications and Marketing Manager at Willow.

A crowd gathered at the Eros statue in Piccadilly to watch the video go live, including members of the Willow team, some of the featured beneficiaries with their loved ones.

Joe, 24, from Peterborough, is living with Ewing sarcoma. He enjoyed a special break in Cornwall with his wife, Charlotte. As a keen photographer, seeing himself and his photos on the screen was something Joe will never forget. He added, “It’s kind of mind-blowing seeing the photos of me up there on this big wall but hopefully it spreads awareness about this amazing charity.”
